FedEx Opens New Facilityin Regional Victoria to Support LocalBusinesses

FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and oneof the world’s largest transportation companies, announced theopening of its new facility in south eastern Victoria to supportthe growing express freight demand in the region. The newpurpose-built facility spans over 4,987 square metres, is equippedwith an advanced automated sortation system that can sort up to1,400 packages per hour.

The facility, located at Morwell, will support businessesespecially small and medium companies in the Gippsland region toaccess domestic and international markets. Regional Victoriaaccounts for 21%of small businesses in Victoria and Gippsland isone of the areas that has seen an increase in small businesses inthe past year, making the facility a crucial touch point forconnecting intrastate, across the country and across borders. TheGippsland area is estimated to grow to $2.66 billion GPR in thenear future.

The new facility is strategically located near the highway,providing excellent accessibility for express pick-up and deliveryservices to homes and businesses in Traralgon, Leongatha, Sale,Morwell, Moe, Maffra, Yarram, Warragul and Drouin regions. It alsoserves as a domestic and international collection point, providingcomprehensive logistic solutions for local businesses.
