DHL Global Forwarding, the air and ocean freight specialist ofDeutsche Post DHL Group, normally moves goods that stay in theEarth’s atmosphere. Now they have partnered with D-Orbit, aspecialized company covering the entire lifecycle of a spacemission, including logistics services, for the first time. Togetherwith the company’s own innovation team DHL Customer Solutions &Innovation (CSI), the freight forwarding expert set up logistics tohelp the ION Satellite Carrier in its journey into space. Developedand designed by D-Orbit, the satellite carrier is planned to launchat Cape Canaveral, the world’s most famous space base in Florida inJanuary 2021.
