Siemens Healthineers, a leading medical technology company,and DHL Supply Chain, the Americas leader in contract logistics andpart of Deutsche Post DHL Group, have joined forces with acomprehensive service logistics agreement in the United States. Animportant focus area in the relationship will be the use of digitaland robotics technologies that are designed to deliver continuousquality and cost improvements within the supply chain of SiemensHealthineers, enabling high levels of delivery performance andcustomer satisfaction.
The two companies will invest in a state-of-the-art WorldDistribution Center in Memphis, Tennessee, which will be operatedby DHL Supply Chain. The Distribution Center will incorporate DHL’sproprietary warehousing and inventory management system and proveninnovations, such as automated storage and retrieval systems andaugmented reality-assisted picking, to maximize efficiency andproductivity. Digital technologies, such as DHL’s MySupplyChainapplication and GPS tracking for final mile delivery, will provideengineers with additional transparency, visibility and control overtheir orders and returns.

This brand new site was the firstspeculative distribution facility built in Memphis since 2007 andwill employ approximately 105 associates.
