Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZ) and FedEx Logistics, a subsidiaryof FedEx Corporation (NYSE: FDX), signed a Memorandum ofUnderstanding (MoU) to facilitate the establishment of a regionallogistics facility in Qatar’s free zones. The facility, which willoperate under the company’s FedEx Trade Networks Transport &Brokerage division, will be located at Ras Bufontas Free Zone andwill include a state-of-the-art logistics office.
The MoU was signed by Sheikh Mohammed H. F. Al-Thani, CEO of QatarFree Zones Authority (QFZ), and Patrick Moebel, President and CEOof FedEx Logistics, in a ceremony that took place on the sidelinesof their participation at the Qatar Economic Forum, following aproductive panel discussion titled ‘Connectingto the Shifting Global Supply Chain Network’ that broughttogether QFZ and FedEx Logistics.
The new facility will help continue to support the expansion ofFedEx Logistics with seamless integration into the FedEx globalnetwork, serving as a key gateway for international cargotransition in the region between Asia and Europe.
The location of the FedEx Logistics facility in Ras Bufontas FreeZone, adjacent to the award-winning Hamad International Airport andQatar Airways, will provide enhanced access to air transportationand freight, efficient customs processing time, convenience, andthe opportunity to grow business in the region.
On the occasion of the signing, Sheikh Mohammed H. F.
