The new facility at 10550 N.W. Transcon Drive, Kansas City,Missouri, is strategically located near the Kansas CityInternational Airport, within the KCI Intermodal Business Center.The expansion adds 43,700 square feet of warehousing and officespace, and improves the operation with newly upgraded materialhandling equipment, along with an extended 46 positions for couriervehicles to load freight around its conveyor system.

The larger DHL warehouse can process up to 3,550 pieces perhour, through the use of a cutting-edge conveyor sorting systemthat features dual-view X-ray package screening for safety andsecurity, as well as image-capture technology and automatedbar-code sorting functionality. Handling U.S. domestic as well astime-definite international shipments to and from the 220 countriesand territories served by DHL, the facility is expected toaccommodate the shipment growth projected over the next ten years,as reflected in its long-term lease through 2031.
