FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE:FDX)and one of the world’s largest express transportationcompanies, wasawarded the highest accolade of ‘Premium band’ inthe TradeFacilitation and Integrated Risk-based System(TradeFIRST) bySingapore Customs.

With the Premium band status, FedEx will enjoy morestreamlinedprocesses for customs facilitation than shippers inlower bands forthree years, through 2026. This includes waiver ofsecurity formost types of transactions, expedited clearance ofshipments,reduced container sealing, and consolidateddeclaration.

With enhanced customs facilitation, FedEx customers canbenefitfrom faster delivery times and lower transportation costs.Thecertification helps ensure the safety and security of theshipment,reducing the risk of loss or damage, and offeringgreaterconvenience and peace of mind to customers.

TradeFIRST is an integrated assessment framework thatevaluatescompanies and determines the level of facilitationaccorded bySingapore Customs. The framework is based on three keyprinciplesthat are aligned with Singapore Customs’ motto of makingtradeeasy, fair, and secure, and the Premium band status is thehighestlevel available in this programme. Under TradeFIRST,companies arerated holistically in five areas including companyprofile,inventory management and controls, compliance, proceduresandprocesses, and security.
