Deutsche Post DHL Group together with Beethoven-Haus in Bonncreated an innovative exhibit in preparation of the composer’s250th birthday by 2020. Visitors can gain easy access into theexhibition via multimedia channels and on the basis of originalexhibits as well as historically valuable replicas. DHL not onlysigns responsible for the transportation of the items but developedand build the exhibition in cooperation with the Beethoven-HausBonn. On March 26, 2019, Professor Andreas Schulz, Director of theGewandhaus Orchestra, Malte Boecker, Director of the Beethoven-Hausin Bonn and Arjan Sissing, Head of Group Brand Marketing atDeutsche Post DHL Group, will officially open the “BTHVN on Tour”exhibition. The Leipzig exhibit will run from March 26 to April 5,2019 before beginning its tour of concert halls around the worldthroughout 2020.

The “BTHVN on Tour” is designed to provide easy access to theexhibition. The life and work of Beethoven is shown via multimediaelements and a monitor which allows visitors to follow Beethoven’scomposition process from initial sketches through to finishedscore, as well as an interactive timeline depicting Beethoven’slife and some of the historic events of his time. The exhibit alsofeatures one of Beethoven’s original ear trumpets in addition toaudio samples that give visitors an idea of how bad Beethoven’shearing had become, and how much the ear trumpets could compensatefor this. A special photo booth installation allows visitors totake selfies and add them to a huge Beethoven photo mosaic.
