UPS has officially opened its expanded air hub at East MidlandsAirport (EMA) in the UK, positioning it as a vital connection toworld markets – in particular for small businesses looking for new,cross-border customers.
This investment of £138 million strengthens the connectionbetween the Midlands region and businesses throughout the countryto UPS’s global smart logistics network. The hub is fitted with thelatest package sorting technology that further increasesefficiency, reliability and speed.

The facility features automated scanning and sortation systemsthat make operations more efficient and more sustainable byreducing UPS’s carbon footprint. EMA is also served in part byliquefied natural gas UPS vehicles that connect the facility tocustomers throughout the UK and refuel at the nearby ground hub inTamworth.
